  1. 01Opening

Dean’s story of leading 3 Olympic sports to gold medal success (with no technical knowledge) and setting up the frame of what it takes to lead success in life.

  2. 02Turning point

Dean shares his sliding doors story of how he stumbled into his career (with a life of severe anxiety, imposter syndrome and fear of public speaking) and a moment of being bold, courageous, and persistent changed his life, and mindset. A story for leaders on the power of vulnerability, how to engineer serendipity, building your luck surface area, and being the change you want to see. You can manufacture success when you are bold enough to be unreasonable.

  3. 03Building gold medal teams (video and story)

The unlikely story of a British Olympic sport that had no facilities, no athletes, no funding, to become the greatest nation of all time. The power of leading with clarity, seeing problems as opportunities, teamwork, and building a culture of continuous improvement.

  4. 04Leadership is the biology of possibility

A high energy group exercise to get the group interacting through the power of human chemicals of oxytocin, dopamine, and endorphins, showing the power of leading with connection.

  5. 05Are you really a leader? exercise

Who do you want to be as a leader? A powerful and provocative moment of self reflection that gets the room looking inwards on how others perceive them. Each participant gets a resource to help them reflect on their individual leadership strengths, and strengths underplayed, and building their own leadership manifesto.

  6. 06Group scenarios

Small breakout discussions between participants on leading with impact. An opportunity for connection, getting to know each other, and thinking intentionally about how they want to show up as leaders at this event, and beyond.

  7. 07The power of choice

Mental warm up strategy. Every day, you step into multiple performance arenas, and context switch (meetings, one to ones, pitches, client calls). This brain priming strategy will teach you how to step back, before you step in. A five minute exercise you can use before any situation in life. A proven technique to increase performance by 20%.

  8. 08The art of the strategic no

How to deal with high power people, whilst maintaining respect. Why most of the time our efforts to influence cause people to double down on their agenda. The neuroscience of influencing change. With a short exercise in pairs (and perhaps a demonstration with a participant with me on stage).

  9. 09Finish

Give everyone a ‘leadership pledge’ card. It’s a physical business size card that has space for everyone to write a pledge to themselves: ‘I will… even if… and by doing so’ inviting them to be the change they want to see.
