One-to-One Coaching

Stop second-guessing yourself. Start having the conversations that matter.

One-to-one coaching for leaders who want to speak with confidence, handle disagreement and lead their teams through difficult moments.

Bring the conversation you're avoiding, the decision you're stuck on or the pattern you keep repeating. We'll work on what's getting in your way, and what you can do differently.

It's the same work I do with Olympic gold-medal-winning teams, FTSE 100 boards and senior government leaders.

Let's talk about your coaching

You know what you want to say. So why is it so hard to say it?

Perhaps you're holding back in senior meetings. Putting off a conversation with someone in your team. Or replaying an exchange long after everyone else has moved on.

You might be leading successfully and still questioning whether you're good enough.

These are the situations we can work through together.

What we can work on

Every coaching relationship starts with your situation. That might mean:

01

Self-doubt and impostor feelings

Understand what triggers your self-doubt and practise responding so it has less control over your decisions.

02

Difficult conversations

Say what needs saying clearly and respectfully, without putting it off or letting frustration take over.

03

Managing defensiveness

Recognise when you're becoming defensive, stay curious under pressure and repair the conversation when it goes wrong.

04

Speaking with influence

Make your point clearly, understand what matters to others and respond confidently when challenged.

05

Leading teams

Set clear expectations, address problems earlier and make it easier for people to challenge you.

06

Team performance

Turn trust, accountability and constructive disagreement into everyday habits in your team.

I coach what I had to learn

The honest bit: none of this came naturally to me. I grew up anxious, desperate to be liked and riddled with impostor syndrome. I hated speaking in groups. I was the ‘nice’ boy who dodged every difficult conversation going.

Psychology started as a way to fix myself. In 2008 I gatecrashed one of Professor Steve Peters' lectures and asked for his help; he ended up mentoring me for five years. These days I speak on stages in front of thousands, and I still get the wobble. I still feel self-doubt. I still have conversations I'd rather avoid. What's changed is how I respond.

That experience shapes how I coach: understanding why something feels difficult, challenging the patterns that keep you stuck and helping you practise a different response.
